International development work
For the past six years, Tero Väänänen has mainly worked abroad mainly in various Explosive Detection Dog projects. The duties have also included the training of other search, rescue and patrol dogs. In addition, Tero has trained instructors, handled project-level management, developed training and internal quality control, and tested dogs for procurement.


Long experience from the border
Previously, Tero worked at the Finnish Border Guard as a dog handler for about 25 years and at the Finnish Border and Coast Guard Academy as an instructor of the dog handler courses for about 10 years. Tero has been certified canine team instructor by the EU Border and Coast Guard Agency Frontex K9 Team in 2014.
Training work in Finland
In 2020-2021, Tero worked in Finland with dog sports enthusiasts and semi-professionals in various sports. Tero currently has two malinois of his own in training.
Over the years, Tero has gained a lot of experience in training hundreds of dogs for work and hobbies both in Finland and abroad.
