ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS:
Joakim Berlin currently works at the Swedish Police and is the former head of Special Detection Dogs Unit (Region Mitt). He is also an Assessor, Instructor, and Mental evaluator for Swedish police K9 Units. He is a previous Global EDD advisor at UNOPS and was responsible for developing and implementing UNOPS EDD Quality standards. He has also worked as an EDD assessor for UNOPS.
Joakim also worked as a Frontex Assessor and Course Manager for Frontex PSD Instructor courses.
Karita Häkkinen is a scent detection instructor from Finland. She has worked as a special detection dog and tracking dog handler and instructor for over a decade. She was the pioneer in Bed Bug Detection Dog industry in Finland and led the way for all the BBDD teams there are working in Finland today.
Karita’s main job nowadays is to coach dog teams that already are or aim to become professionals in detection work.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE COURSE?
This intensive three days filled with theory and training by two very talented and experienced instructors. Participants will learn strong basics and important factors to take their training forward with modern and efficient techniques according to UN and EU standards. Practical training exercises will be customized to meet the level of every dog team. Working language is English.
THE COST OF THE COURSE
440€ per dog training team, 150€ for auditors
The cost for the course includes coaching on the training weekends, coffee breaks during the day, and materials.
The cost does not include lunches, dinner, or accommodation.
